Privacy

The short version

• We collect what you give us (name, email, phone, class and order details) plus basic site analytics.
• We use it to run classes, ship shop orders, send the emails you signed up for, and see which pages and emails are working.
• We don't sell your personal information or rent out our email list.
• Email info@thecadretraining.com and we'll show you what we have, fix it, or delete it.

What we collect

Downloads, class-date alerts, and the newsletter. Your email, usually your name, and what you tell us on the form: the DOPE cards you picked, your cartridge, your gear, the state you want a class in, or the kind of shooting you do. Some forms, including the contact form, also record your IP address to stop spam.

Class registration. The buyer's name, email, and phone, and the same for each attendee. Date of birth is optional; we use it to check age at class. Some classes register through Ticket Tailor instead of this site, and Ticket Tailor sends us the same details.

Before class. We email you forms to sign and ask you to reply with any allergies, medical conditions, or medications. That goes to Cadre staff and the instructors running your class so they can keep you safe on the range.

Service discounts. To verify military, law enforcement, or fire and EMS service, you email us proof such as a DD-214 or an agency ID. Cover anything we don't need, like your Social Security or DoD ID number, before you send it. We use it only to confirm you qualify and to mark your email address as verified.

Shop orders. Your name, email, phone, and shipping address. Stripe collects the address at checkout and passes it to us, and we send your name, address, and contact details to the person who packs and ships your order.

Contact and coaching requests. Whatever you put in the form: your name, email, phone if the form asks for it, location, and message. It comes to info@thecadretraining.com, and we may forward it to the instructor best placed to answer.

Accounts and the training tools. Your name, email, and password. Our sign-in provider stores the password; we don't. If you use the training tools, we also store your profile, rifles and gear, home ranges, training logs, notes, and the photos and video links you submit for review. Coaches you work with can see your training data.

Photos. Photos you upload to your class photo page are stored and shown on that page. We also take photos and video at class and may post them on this site and our social media. If you'd rather not appear, tell your instructor or email us.

Email

When you register for a class, you get emails about that class: logistics, gear, and what to expect. Class buyers and attendees are also added to our newsletter. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops the newsletter, not the emails about a class you're registered for.

Our emails include a small image that tells us when an email is opened. Some links go through short links on this site (thecadretraining.com/s/…). For those we log the click, your device and browser type, your approximate location (city), and a scrambled version of your IP address.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Ahrefs to see how people find and use the site: which pages get read, where visits come from, and what kind of device you're on. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart. Before a page address reaches Google, we strip out email addresses, tokens, and similar details.

When a class sells, our server tells Google Analytics which class sold, the price, and the visit that led to it, so we can see which pages and emails lead to registrations. It doesn't send your name or email. For classes sold on Ticket Tailor, the site adds a short code to the Ticket Tailor link to connect the sale to the visit; we delete those codes after 30 days.

We keep detailed Google Analytics data for 14 months. You can block it with Google's opt-out add-on or a content blocker.

Who else sees it

We use these services to run the business. Each gets only what its job needs.

• Supabase: our database, sign-in, and file storage.
• Stripe: payments. Card numbers go straight to Stripe (or to Ticket Tailor for classes sold there); we never see them.
• Ticket Tailor: registration for some classes.
• Mailchimp: our newsletter list. Your email, name, and tags such as the class you took, its state, and the kind of shooting you told us you do.
• Google: Gmail sends our email. Google Analytics measures the site. reCAPTCHA checks that a form was filled out by a person, which means it receives your IP address.
• Ahrefs: site traffic statistics.
• Vercel: hosts the website.
• Mapbox: the map on the PRS and NRL match finder.
• YouTube and Vimeo: videos load only after you press play.
• OpenRouter: AI writing tools staff use to draft class emails from class details like dates and venues.

We also share information when the law requires it. We don't sell your personal information or rent out our email list.

Cookies and browser storage

• Sign-in cookies keep you signed in to your account.
• A one-hour checkout cookie keeps a class registration together while you fill it out.
• Google Analytics cookies (named _ga) tell visits apart.
• Your shop cart and checklist progress are saved in your browser, not on our servers.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. You'll need the sign-in and checkout cookies to use an account or register for a class on this site.

How long we keep it

We keep class, order, and account records as long as we need them to run classes and the shop and to meet tax and legal requirements. We stop emailing you when you unsubscribe. Detailed Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months, and Ticket Tailor link codes for 30 days.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link at the bottom of any newsletter.
• Email info@thecadretraining.com to see what we have about you, correct it, or delete it, including your account. We'll confirm by email when it's done.
• Some records we have to keep even after you ask, like payment and tax records. We'll tell you if that applies.

Kids

This site is meant for adults. When a minor attends a class, a parent or guardian registers them with the parent's own email and phone. If you think a child under 13 gave us personal information directly, email us and we'll delete it.
