Advanced

The natural progression after Foundation.

Advanced keeps the Foundation shot process intact and moves it into harder problems: tripods, positional shooting, wind refinement, and gun-number thinking. It is not a first match class. It is the bridge between knowing the fundamentals and applying them when prone is no longer the answer.

Who it is for

Foundation built. Time to leave prone.

Advanced is for Foundation graduates or shooters who already have a repeatable rifle setup, zero, data, and shot process. We assume you can run the rifle safely and keep your mechanics together from prone.

The work here is applying that base from tripods, props, and field positions while adding a more useful wind language. If you want PRS or NRL Hunter stage flow under a clock, that moves into Performance.

What we cover

The next layer.

Foundation Under Load

  • Confirm the rifle, data, and shot process before adding complexity
  • Apply natural point of aim and recoil management outside prone
  • Keep follow-through and shot calls honest as positions get harder

Tripod Shooting

  • Build standing, kneeling, and seated tripod positions
  • Set tripod height, body position, and rifle-to-shoulder connection
  • Manage wobble zone and watch recoil from the tripod

Positional Work

  • Use the positional triangle: comfort, stability, recoil management
  • Solve barricades, props, packs, and improvised support
  • Move between positions without abandoning the fundamentals

Wind And Gun Number

  • Use gun number as a faster wind bracket
  • Read terrain, mirage, target indicators, and shooter-side wind
  • Commit to a correction and refine it off real impacts

Outcomes

What should change.

  • Carry the Foundation process into positional and tripod shooting
  • Build a stable tripod position without fighting the rifle
  • Solve common positional problems with a repeatable framework
  • Use gun number to make faster, cleaner wind decisions
  • Know whether Advanced or Performance is the right next step
